Have No Fear of the CAHPS Survey with Help from ImageFIRST New York!

Surveys given to patients with the goal of learning more about the care they’ve received can be extremely useful in determining weak points in a hospital or outpatient facility’s operations. One such survey that stands to have a large effect on the way that Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery centers operate is the recently-approved OAS CAHPS survey, put forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Slated to solicit around 300 mandatory surveys per facility in 2017, with optional implementation in 2016, these surveys will help facilities to glean an overarching picture of patient perspective of the care they provide, as well as overall patient satisfaction with their experience.
